After much discussion and preparation at an ad hoc level, the
William Blake Society was formally founded and inaugurated with the
first meeting of its Service Committee, which took place on Tuesday 15th March 2011
in the crypt of St. Johnís Parish Church, Hampstead, London, amongst
the Earthly remains of two of Blake's great contemporaries in paint and
poetry, Johns Constable and Keats...
We elected a full
inaugural Service Committee and signed up enough members to form a
quorum in line with our constitutional requirements, before voting to
adopt our constitution.
The minutes of the meeting
will be available to members in full shortly.
